The Nobel Prize ceremony will take place on December 10, but not all of the Swedish royal family will be in attendance.

News agency TT reports that Princess Madeleine, the younger sister of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Carl Phillip, will be in New York, where she has been living.

According to the royal family's official calendar, she will be taking part in a New York Academy of Science celebration honoring women scientists, in connection with the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie's second Nobel Prize.

She did not come to Sweden for the Nobel Prize ceremony last year either.
