Marriage: Sometimes unwanted

Last month a Swedish court ruled that a girl or woman can be granted asylum here if they’re able to prove they are at risk of being forced into an arranged marriage.

The decision, following an appeal from a 15 year old Tunisian girl, also turned the spotlight onto the issue of arranged marriages for people who live here in Sweden. Tom McAlinden met up with a woman in Stockholm who helps girls escape arranged marriages they don’t want, after being forced into one herself as a teenager....
