Saving Stockholm’s Abandoned Cats

We have a concept here in Sweden called the Summer Cat. Parents will get a cat for their kids, maybe while they are living in a summer cottage, maybe at home.

But when vacation is over, interest fades, and every year thousands of such cats are abandoned to the Swedish winter. Many will die, but here in Stockholm they sometimes have a chance.

Travelling on the subway, it’s been hard to miss those large eyes staring down from billboards as an advertising campaign pulls at the heartstrings of commuters. Our reporter Gaby Katz investigates:
