Borg Positive to G20 Goals

Published fredag 3 april 2009 kl 10.48
Finance Minister Anders Borg

Meeting with fellow European Union finance ministers in Prague on the sidelines of the week-ends EU-American summit talks, Swedish finance Minister Anders Borg says the G20 decision in London to give the International Monetary Fund more funds to fight the global crises is important for Sweden and those countries facing difficulties.

Adding that there is a cold economic winter ahead, he praises the London meeting of the 20 counties with richest economies for taking a stand against protectionism and tax havens as being in line with the current Swedish financial policy.

Sweden’s contribution to the 100 billion US dollars EU share in the boost to the IMF could reach 3 billion dollars – according to the Ministry of Finance here.
