Swedish Prime Minister to Speak on Environment at Prague Summit

Published fredag 3 april 2009 kl 18.52
Fredrik Reindfeldt

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt will be one of the main speakers at the Prague summit meeting between EU leaders and American President Barack Obama – and will be speaking on environmental issues.

Sweden takes over the rotating 6-month EU presidency from the Czech Republic on July 1st.

Environmental questions are one of the 3 top issues of this informal summit – along with the economy and foreign policy including Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Swedish Prime Minister’s office maintains that Sweden is determined to keep the battle against global warming at the top of the agenda – and to enlist American support for the coming United Nations climate conference in Copenhagen in December. (BS)
