Few Interested in EU-Election

Published tisdag 14 april 2009 kl 09.42

Another poll reveals that Swedes show very little interest in the upcoming EU-election. According to the poll carried out by the opinion research institute Sifo, merely 48 percent of the eligible voters intend to cast their vote on June 7th.

At the same time, 64 percent of the voters claim they have no or very little knowledge of the EU-election. If the poll proves correct, the turnout in Sweden will be exactly as low as during the previous EU-election. The issues that Swedes take biggest interest in are the environment and unemployment.
