Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling

The Swedish Royal Palace reports that the fiance of Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria, Daniel Westling, underwent a kidney transplant operation in Stockholm Wednesday.

The kidney was donated by his father. The palace says the future royal consort is doing well, and points out that the problem was not an inherited disease.

Westling is to marry the heir to the throne in June next year.

Meanwhile the Crown Princess is in Greenland with the heirs to the thrones of Denmark and Norway to study the effects of climate change in the Danish territory. The newspaper “Expressen” reports that Daniel Westling encouraged his fiance to make the trip despite his operation.
