Latvian Crisis Rebounds On Swedish Banks

Published torsdag 4 juni 2009 kl 14.29
Sweden's Finance Minister Anders Borg

Fresh worries that the government in Latvia may have to devalue its currency has had a ripple effect in Sweden. The concerns over devaluation has led to a drop in the Swedish currency, the Krona, and a drop in bank shares because many of Sweden's top banks have invested heavily in the Latvian economy in the form of loans. Sweden's Finance Minister says the banks have only themsleves to blame.
