Bad Times for Business = Good Times for Trains
The recession is meaning that more trains are on time, according to new figures from the Swedish Rail Administration. Swedish news agency TT reports that the administration says that fewer freight trains on the tracks means that more passenger trains are reaching their destinations on time, and the biggest improvement can be seen for Sweden's X2000 express trains.
22% of them were late in the first half of 2009, that compares to 35% in the second half of 2008.
Green Cargo, Sweden's biggest rail freight transport company says it has seen volume fall by over 30 percent this year.
