Prime Minister Reinfeldt also announced Friday that the European Union and Brazil will hold summit talks in Stockholm in October.

In a statement, the Swedish EU presidency said the agenda is expected to be dominated by global warming, and the world economic crisis. The announcement came after Reinfeldt and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso met with Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva at the G8 summit.

In the statement, Reinfeldt says: "Brazil is an important global actor sharing many of the EU's values. The objective is to try and reach consensus on how to meet  today's global challenges."
