Opposition: Free Vaccine or Campaign Will Fail

Published fredag 17 juli 2009 kl 14.38

Free swine flu vaccine to all our inhabitants, promises the local council of Nynäshamn, as the debate goes on about who will bear the cost of this autumn's mass vaccination programme.

The Government has upset county council officials by saying it will not give any extra money to cover the planned massive vaccination campaign against swine flu. Some councils have indicated people will have to pay a fee for their vaccination. The Social Democratic opposition demands that the centre right coalition Government ensure the vaccine is free for all, otherwise the campaign will fail.

The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control has confirmed just under 300 cases of swine flu in Sweden so far.
