Safety Breaches in Accident School

Police carrying out a technical investigation at the school where the accident took place

Health and Safety Inspectors have found several serious safety breaches in the school where three young children fell ten metres out of a supposedly locked classroom window onto the tarmac below. Exactly what those breaches are has not yet been revealed, but the Inspectorate is holding the local council responsible for what happened.

A police investigation is also under way, to establish whether someone should be charged with "causing bodily harm".

The children, aged 6 and 7, fell out of the window on Monday. Two of the children were seriously injured. During Wednesday, the boy was doing better and was transferred from intensive care to other parts of Karolinska University Hospital. The condition of the six-year-old girl is still serious, but not deemed to be life threatening.
