Isabellah Andersson won Tjejmilen

Thousands of women took part in the annual Tjejmilen ten kilometer race through Stockholm Sunday.

The race was won by Isabellah Andersson, but probably all of the 25,914 runners representing 22 countries who took part felt like winners in what has become an annual Stockholm folkfest around the island of Djurgården.

The Swedish-Kenyan’s winning time was 33:49, 36 seconds ahead of second place Lisa Blommé. Isabellah Andersson, who became a mother in January, warmed up for her victory in the Tjejmilen by winning the 5000 meters event Saturday in the annual Sweden-Finland track and field meet Finnkampen.
