Swine Flu

First Deadly Case in Sweden

The swine flu has caused the first fatality in Sweden. Uppsala Academic Hospital confirmed Monday evening that a 37-year-old man who died last Friday in his home in the Uppsala region had the A/H1N1-virus, also known as the novel flu.

The man does not seem to have infected others, as the first symptoms occurred Sunday last week when he was not at work. He obviously contacted health authorities by phone, though it is yet unknown what advice he was given.
