Redundancies Withdrawn, Many Re-hired
Despite the continuing economic recession, rising unemployment and the gloomy financial picture presented in the Swedish mass media here, labor market authorities say that many of those declared redundant have been rehired or no longer are threatened with dismissals.
Statistics also show that 9 out of 10 unemployed white collar workers seeking help from joint labor union and employer’s support have found new jobs – and 70% of these are permanent employment
And the troubled used-car market has made a slight recovery, with prices no longer plunging but climbing 2% and stocks starting to move again. Dealers are hoping the same thing will happen with the new car market.
