"We'll Keep Absolut But Sell The Rest"

Published tisdag 8 september 2009 kl 20.43
Pernod Ricard's love affair with Absolut Vodka.

French alcohol company Pernod Ricard is looking to sell all its Swedish alcohol brands except Absolut Vodka, newspaper Dagens Nyheter reveals. The company bought the entire alcohol assortment of distributor Vin & Sprit from the Swedish state in 2008, but it never made a mystery of the fact that Absolut was the sale’s biggest draw.

Yet it’s not likely that the brands will fall back into Swedish hands. While no Swedish companies are jumping at the chance to bid on the bunch, Finnish alcohol manufacturer Altia and Norwegian distributor Arcus are both thought to be high on the list of potential buyers.
