The trial of two teenagers accused of a love triangle murder came to an end on Wednesday. A 16-year-old boy was convicted of murder and a 16-year-old girl was convicted of accessory to murder.

In his closing argument, state prosecutor Jakob Holmberg urged that the two16-year-olds be sentenced to four years at a juvenile institution, the maximum punishment for a person their age. The sentencing will take place after they undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

The teenagers' murder victim was a 15-year-old girl, who was found unconscious in a forest grove in the Stockholm suburb of Stureby in early June and died the next day. The 16-year-old boy later confessed to killing her, but the girl denied having anything to do with the murder. SMS messages featured in the trial showed, however, that the girl encouraged her then boyfriend to kill the 15-year-old girl after he admitted to kissing her.
