Skilled Workers Sought in Far North

Published onsdag 9 september 2009 kl 16.15

Sweden is trying to find out how to attract highly qualified and skilled labour from abroad to thinly populated and cold-weather areas in the face of tough international competition.

Swedish industry and the Swedish chamber of commerce have commissioned a study on this by Oxford Research –  a specialised knowledge company based in several Nordic countries.

Radio Sweden discusses this with the author of the report, Thomas Brunk., Karin Stjärna – the mayor of  the northern Swedish town of Strömsund and Henrik Andersson, chief analyst at the chamber of commerce in southern Sweden:
