Less Power from Unreliable Reactors
Sweden’s three nuclear power plants produce less and less electricity. Daily Dagens Nyheter reports that this year’s output will go up to 58 Terrawatt at best. This would mean a decline of more than 20 percent compared to 2004, the year with the country’s atomic power production peak. According to the report, repeated reactor malfunctions and safety deficiencies are the main causes for the downward trend.
