Foreign Minister Carl Bildt's support for the "Goldstone Report" about the Gaza-war earlier this year annoys the Israeli government, according to the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

"We have to take a closer look at our relations with Sweden. They are going in the wrong direction, and it is not our doing," Danny Avalon, Israel's deputy Foreign Minister is reported to have told a radio station in Israel on Thursday.

The Goldstone Report was commissioned by the UN's Human Rights Council, and it describes war crimes perpetrated by both Israelis and Palestinians during their three week war early this year. Bildt told Swedish Radio News Earlier in the week that Israel made a mistake by not cooperating with South African judge Richard Goldstone, who led the investigation for the United Nations.

"This is the same Bildt that recently refused to repudiate (the Swedish Newspaper) Aftonbladet's story about israeli organtheft. Sweden is a member of the EU, which is a member of the Quartet that is supposed to give the peace process its support," Avalon told the station, according to Dagens Nyheter.
