Sweden's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt has come under fire recently – not for what he's saying, but for what he's NOT saying.

Swedish women's rights group Woman to Woman has criticized him for failing to take up women's issues, pointing to his silence in recent speeches, articles, press releases, and blog entries as evidence.

According to the group's quantitative study, words like "women" and "equality" were only mentioned a handful of times in all of Bildt's public statements over the last eighteen months.

"It seems as if the Foreign Minister has a blind spot when it comes to these issues," Lena Ag, General Secretary of Woman to Woman, told Radio Sweden. In addition, she points out American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as an example of a minister who frequently addresses women's issues in her governmental doings.

The Swedish minister has refrained from commenting on Woman to Woman's allegations.
