Sven for Sweden Job?
Sweden's most successful , well known and highly paid football manager Sven Göran Eriksson is being lined up for a return home to take over the reigns of the National side, following Lars Lagerbäck's resignation last week.
"Svennis" is said to be keen on the idea with his business manager Lars Sternmarker telling the Aftonbladet tabloid that contact has been made with the Swedish FA:
"Lars-Ake has spoken to both me and Svennis although I cannot reveal what was said. "But Svennis is Swedish at heart and feels very happy and flattered. We think it's fun that a dialogue has been opened and that there is scope for more discussions."
Eriksson is currently the Director of Football at Notts County in the English second division, a surprising career choice for the former national manager of England and Mexico.
The President of the Swedish FA Lars-Åke Lagrell told the BBC that "I am a friend of Svennis and know how good a manager he is. We'll have a telephone conversation on Wednesday, then I hope to know more."
Eriksson's name though is only on a list of five or more considered by the Swedish FA to take over from Lagerbäck who resigned after Sweden's failure to qualify for next year's World Cup.
