Swedish Artist Threatened by Somali

Three days after the attack against Danish Mohamed-cartoonist Kurt Westergaard carried out by a Somali immigrant, controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks has been threatened by a person calling from Somalia. The police in the south-western city of Helsingborg consider the threat serious, news agency TT reports.

According to the report, the anonymous caller asked Vilks if he had taken notice of the attack against Westergaard and added that “we will come”. Back in 2007, Vilks had sparked an international outrage among Muslims after he published a drawing that ridiculed the prophet Mohamed. Then, an Islamist organization based in Iraq called on Muslims to kill the Swedish artist for what it called blasphemy.
