Conflict over Alcohol Policy

Published fredag 15 januari 2010 kl 15.33

Alcohol and politics have long been a very strong blend here in Sweden - even more so in an election year with parliamentary elections coming up in September. Politicians risk winning some votes by loosening up Sweden's tight restrictions on alcohol - and losing other votes from the strong temperance movement that blames wine, beer and vodka for social and medical problems.
