Airbus Investigation Underway
It's believed an engine may have been at fault and was the cause of Saturday's incident at Arlanda airport where an Iran Air owned Airbus with 173 passengers on board careered off the runway and glided in the snow for one hundred metres before coming to a standstill.
However a spokesperson for Arlanda airport , Anders Bredfall, told TT news that they couldn't be certain what the exact problem was and "the air investigation has to show what really caused it."
The plane swerved off the runway while slowly picking up speed for take-off. No-one was hurt and passengers and crew were safely evacuated. The runway, one of three at Arlanda, was closed for a time causing delays but on Sunday air traffic was running smoothly again.
