Police Open Fire in School Drama
Armed police have shot a student armed with a knife at a Folk high school in Ljungskile in south west Sweden.
According to the police, the student had threatened other students with the knife and when police arrived, barracaded himself into a toilet where he threatened to harm himself.
Police say he rushed at an officer when the door was opened and one of them opened fire, shooting him in the leg.
The student was taken to hospital. The alarm was raised at 7.54 on Tuesday morning. There are 250 students at the school. The head teacher Ann-Kristin Falkeby told TT that a crisis group has been put in place to help any students in distress.
