Germans Blame Swedes for Radiation

Published onsdag 27 januari 2010 kl 20.12

German authorities are blaming Sweden for a serious incident in a uranium processing facility in the city of Gronau last weekend.

According to television news reports, a container delivered from Sweden declared empty neverthe less contained 1.6 kilos of uranium.

When an employee opened the container he was contaminated with radiation and taken to a local hospital, but was later released.

Authorities are now considering asking Swedish prosecutors for legal assistance in determining the exact cause of the incident.
