New Swedish Hope For Huntington's

Published fredag 5 februari 2010 kl 11.09

A Swedish biotech firm has developed a promising new medicine against Huntington’s disease. Set to replace the only other medicine in existence—which comes with serious side-effects—the new medicine, Huntexil, seems to relieve the disease’s tension and tremors without any secondary effects.

According to news bureau TT, Huntexil still needs to be approved, though its prospects are bright.

The medicine, based on the findings by Swedish Nobel Laureate Arvid Carlsson, was developed by company NeuroSerch.
