Saab Sellers Ready To Give Millions
Swedish Saab dealers are prepared to contribute the 24 million US dollars that Dutch carmaker Spyker needs to complete its purchase of Saab. The board of directors of current owner General Motors made the decision on Thursday, as reported by Swedish business daily Dagens Industri.
With thousands of jobs at stake in the manufacturing city of Trollhättan, the fate of Saab has captivated this Nordic nation. GM had already begun winding down the Swedish car giant at the beginning of this year when it was suddenly announced that its negotiations with Spyker had reached fruition.
Spyker has until July 1 to come up with the money in order to complete the sale.
