Two Swedish Officers Killed in Afghanistan

Published söndag 7 februari 2010 kl 16.40

Two Swedish officers and a local interpreter have been killed while out on patrol in the Mazar-i-Sharif area of Afghanistan. Another Swedish soldier has been injured and flown by air ambulance to the German operated army hospital in Marmal.

Swedish forces in Afghanistan have for several days been in an military operation where they've come into contact with fire fights and roadside bombers. The latest deaths didn't involve a home made bomb.

It's the same area where five Swedish solderiers were injured and a local interpreter killed back in November last year.
