Swedes Want Nuclear Over Wind, Water

Published onsdag 17 mars 2010 kl 11.52

Nuclear power enjoys more support among Swedes than both wind and hydropower, a new survey reveals.

When asked which energy source is best for both jobs and the climate, a fourth answered nuclear power, while wind and water received less praise.

But opinion is still split as to whether Sweden should replace its existing reactors with new ones once they’ve run their course. News agency TT reports that 52 percent of those surveyed want new nuclear power stations, while 45 percent think that nuclear power should disappear from the country after the reactors reach the end of their lifetime.
