Set for a strike?

Updated: 11:03 am

It's been confirmed that there will be a strike in Sweden’s retail industry over Easter.

The strike will begin on April 1st. 5,000 workers in 79 shops and warehouses will go on strike. Shops that will be shut over Easter include H&M, Kapp-Ahl, Lindex, Ikea, Ica, Willys, Åhléns och Hemköp.

Earlier negotiations between the retail union Handelsanställdas Förbund and Svensk Handel had collapsed at the weekend. The head of the retail employers pointed out that the collapse of the negotiations was due to the fact that no binding tariff agreements have been reached for the entire industry.
