Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has discussed the state of human rights in China with the Asian nation’s Vice President, Xi Jinping, who is on an official visit in Sweden. After talks in Stockholm Reinfeldt told journalists that he had also brought up the importance of an uncensored internet access for the Chinese people.

'We had a good discussion about basic human rights and values,’ Reinfeldt said.

The Chinese Vice President said that his country is interested in closer ties with the European Union. He also stressed the importance of steps towards more efficient climate protection. Xi Jinping did not comment on Reinfeldt’s remarks concerning human rights.
