Rain or Shine for Wedding?

Will Victoria Need An Umbrella?

Weather forecasters across Europe are divided over the weather will be like on Saturday 19th June, the date of the royal wedding between Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling.

With the big day just 8 days away, Sweden's own official SMHI weather agency is predicting sunny skies and warm temperatures around 25 degrees C, but their colleagues over the border in Norway aren't so positive.

The Norwegian weather site YR predicts the weather in Stockholm next week will be only 12 degrees Celsius and rainy. The independent Swedish weather service Klart.se agrees. It is also predicting rainy skies over Stockholm as the royal couple is expected to make their way through the town before and after the ceremony in Stockholm Cathedral.

Swedish TV meteorologist Pia Hultgren told news agency TT the differences are due to different sets of figures being put into the computer models, and the fact that the wedding is still over a week away. Weathermen will only really be able to say what the weather will be like with any certainty the day before, she says.
