Skylift Stranded Above Globe Arena
Fifteen people were trapped 40 meters above ground Saturday in the new Skylift at Stockholm’s Globe Arena.
It took an hour and a half before they could be evacuated, with the help of seven members of the rescue services and technicians from the company operating the aerial tram. According to reports, an electrical fault is believed to have been responsible for the breakdown.
The ride, which has been in operation since February, rises to 150 meters above ground as it travels along the surface of the golf ball shaped sports and concert arena which has become a Stockholm landmark.
