Schlingmann new government spin doctor

Published torsdag 7 oktober 2010 kl 12.41

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt announced Thursday that Per Schlingmann, former party secretary and one of the architects behind the New Moderate Party’s election success will be the new spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office.

Schlingmann, often referred to as a public relations genius, resigned his post as party secretary on Friday last week but his new position within the government was kept secret until today. Born in Sweden but to German parents Schlingmann hasn’t been a Swedish citizen long enough to become a minister.

His new mission as a government spin doctor will include improving the party’s dialog with the public, Swedish Radio News reports.
