Swedbank denies having merger talks
Two of Sweden's banking giants, Swedbank and SEB, have been discussing the possibility of a merger since this summer, reported newspaper Dagens Industri on Friday.
However, Swedbank denies that merger negotiations are going on, according to Reuters.
News agency TT reports that this is not the first time there's heard speak of the two banks coming together. In 2001, they had readied an agreement. But the banks cancelled the plan, saying that the EU's competition authorities had objections.
