A highly unusual trial is underway here in Stockholm – with a Balkan-born Swedish citizen accused of the torture, violence, kidnapping and murder of Bosnian Serb prisoners in Bosnia-Herzegovina back in 1992.

Although some critics maintain that there are possibly hundreds of war criminals hiding in Sweden, critics insist this Nordic nation lacks the proper legislation to deal with such crimes.

Speaking with Radio Sweden, Mark Klamberg, researcher and teacher of international criminal law at Stockholm University, has been following the trial both in the court room and from home.
