Do funerals and firearms mix?

Published lördag 16 oktober 2010 kl 10.51
Hunting rifles are the most common privately owned guns in Sweden

The Swedish church is investigating whether a priest who bought guns belonging to recently departed parishoners was acting properly.

Local paper Sundsvalls Tidning reports that the priest has for many years had a side line in buying and selling guns.

He has now confirmed that he has bought guns several times from the estates of the deceased.

The cathedral chapter in charge of regulating priests is concerned that this business may be in conflict with a priest's role as a spiritual counsellor - but it is very unlikely that they will defrock him, reports the paper.
