The prestigious Liljevalchs art gallery in the Swedish capital is dedicating its major autumn focus on a Swedish painter enormously famous in the early decades of the century for capturing the cool, sophisticated and aloof beauty of Sweden’s  upper class women – and then fading in the shadows of the more emotional and  traumatic turbulence of the years to follow.

Liljvalch's director Mårten Castenfors explains why he’s lighting the torch again for artist Einar Jolin --  “Elegant Einar” – so long after earlier well-praised exhibits of the Stockholm painter at this and many other galleries.
