Published måndag 26 juni 2006 kl 09.48

Swedes celebrated Midsummer Eve in traditional fashion on Friday, with folk music and ring dances, around Midsummer poles around the country.

There was also some violence and drinking during the long holiday weekend, but according to the police it was no worse than an ordinary Friday payday.

There were five deaths in traffic accidents during the holiday.
