6400 Swedes have now been helped to leave the country.

Efforts include a bus convoy from Sidon in the south-west to the capital Beirut, which has been organised jointly between the Swedish and Danish governments.

There are also flights leaving Cyprus and Syria carrying Swedish citizens.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry doesn’t know exactly how many more of its citizens are left in Lebanon but thinks almost all of those who want to leave have done so. Nevertheless, it says the evacuations will continue for as long as necessary.
