Foreign Trade Minister Resigns
Swedish Foreign Trade Minister Maria Borelius has resigned, after eight days in office.
Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt made the announcement in an interview with Swedish Radio Saturday afternoon. He said he had not protested against her decision to leave office.
Shortly after the new government took office last Friday, it was revealed that Borelius and Minister Culture Cecilia Stegö Chliò had both not paid employers taxes for nannys and had both neglected to pay the TV viewers licence.
The situation worsened for Borelius when irregularies in her stock affairs were exposed.
