Suphuric Acid Leak

Published tisdag 7 november 2006 kl 11.57

Sulphuric acid has spilled in the harbor area of Oxelösund, on the Baltic coast south of Stockholm.

A truck driver was filling his truck with the dangerous liquid when something apparently went wrong. He’s been taken to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries remains unclear.

Between 500 and 1000 liters of the acid reportedly leaked, but apparently did not get into the water, where it would have combined to produce a poisonous gas.
