Rescue teams have still to find two Swedish climbers who are among a group missing after an avalanche in eastern Nepal on wednesday.

The two Swedes, a British climber, and their three Sherpa guides were sleeping in a camp on Ama Dablam mountain at 7000 meters elevation when the camp was hit by the avalanche.

A third Swede who had planned to join the expedition up Ama Dablam, was confined to base camp because of illness.

Rescue efforts on Thursday had so far failed to find any survivors.
