Swede Elected Member of International Law Commission

Dr. Marie Jacobsson, Principal Legal Advisor on International Law for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has been elected as a member of the United Nation’s International Law Commission.

Jacobsson is the first Swedish member since 1961 and only the third woman elected in the history of the commission.

Established in 1948, and comprised of 34 members, the International Law Commission’s mandate is the progressive development of international law.
