This year’s Nobel Prize winners are arriving in Stockholm, ahead of Sunday’s ceremony.

During the next few days they will be giving their traditional lectures.

At a press conference in Stockholm Wednesday, literature laureate Orhan Pamuk said he was sad about the current state of relations between his native Turkey and the European Union.

He said Turkish membership in the EU would be beneficial for both sides, but is pessimistic about the prospects.
