Gay couples to get blessings in Swedish churches

The Lutheran Church made the decision on Wednesday to offer the service to those in civil-partnerships.

Same sex couples in Sweden are allowed to declare official unions, which give them the same rights as married couples and they are also allowed to adopt children.

The new rules mean that gay people can have marriage-like ceremonies in a church, but without exchanging vows. Priests are still not allowed to conduct the actual civil partnerships
