Reinfeldt Hopes Scania Remains Swedish
Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said on Thursday he hoped truck-maker Scania AB, the target of a hostile takeover bid by Germany’s MAN AG, would remain in Swedish hands.
According to the news agency TT, Reinfeldt was quoted as saying ”I think that which is Swedish-owned should remain under Swedish ownership.
He added that moving head offices of major companies abroad would affect the job market situation in Sweden. ”That’s why I hope that this crown jewel in Swedish industry remains Swedish.”
