Monday’s Weather...

Published måndag 18 december 2006 kl 11.44

A sudden fall in temperatures has caught many by surprise.

There were a number of serious accidents on icy roads in the south of the country on Monday morning. But forecasters do not think it is going to last, and predicted temperatures of up to 10 degrees Celcius mean there is not a lot of chance of a white Christmas for most.

Today there has been some sunshine but much of Sweden has been quite cloudy, although dry.

At 11 o’clock the temperature in Stockholm was minus one degrees Celsius. It was minus two in Gothenburg, on the west coast, plus two in Malmö in the far south, and minus ten degrees Celsius in Kiruna, above the Arctic Circle.
